Traffic and I don't mean drugs.....

Ok, I have a lot of fun poking fun at our little town, but it is all in fun. I truly love living here!

There is a magazine called "Traffic, Your Small Town Magazine" which featured a story about my Son-in-law's family. They have a monthly food cooking club that shares recipes, techniques and fellowship. My daughter and son-in-law have been attending and having a great time. Anyway, this magazine featured their club this month and did a nice story on it, they even made the cover!

But what I am proud of is that my daughter was in it too! There she is as a reference picture in the table of contents! I am very proud of her and her recipe, which is one of my husband's family traditions! I didn't like that they altered it by adding berries on the top....but it made for a good picture.
Here is the recipe:

Christmas Cheesecake
19 oz. cream cheese
3 tbsp. flour
6 eggs separated (keep all yokes separate from each other)
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/2 tsp. salt

1 pint sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla

1 1/2 cup sugar

Preheat oven to 350o. Spray spring pan bottom with nonstick cooking spray.
Melt butter and mix with graham cracker crumbs. Line spring pan with mixture, save some of the crumb mixture for the top. Mix cream of tartar with egg whites. Beat until stiff, set aside.

Beat cream cheese until soft. Add sugar, flour, salt and mix. Next, add egg yokes one at a time while mixing. Mix in sour cream and vanilla. Fold in cream of tartar and egg whites mixture with a spatula.
Pour into pan, cook at 350 for 1 1/4 hour. When done leave in oven with door open for 10 minutes to cool slowly. Sprinkle with the reserved graham cracker crust mix (or add toppings of your choice).

This is how it should look! (here it is resting in the oven...waiting for Thanksgiving!)

I'm a little sad that the time-honored recipe has been shared with the world via Traffic, but c'est la vie. I can't wait to eat some at your house tomorrow! Love you!
