Along the same lines...

This was one of the famous posters from the Jesus Movement. It was of the rapture. I remember it like it was yesterday. Looking at it now, post 911, it is pretty eerie.

For the Lord Himself shall descent from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Behold, I show you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment in the twinkling of an eye, the dead shall be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed"

I love those verses-1st Thes. 4:16, 17 and 1st Cor. 15:51, 52. That is what that painting is trying to demonstrate.

I did find some interesting facts about this painting

1. People often ask, “Aren’t the dead in Christ supposed to rise first?” Smiling, we reply, “They
are shown rising first – they had six feet further to go.”
2. Another common question is, “Why aren’t people coming out of the buildings?” Possible
answers are, “It may be on Sunday, or after work or they’re between the floor and the ceiling
and aren’t out yet.” The best answer we heard was in a Christian Bookstore when a customer
asked the store manager that question. He replied, “Perhaps there were no saved people in
the buildings. What about you? Would you come out?” The customer started crying, so they
got down on their knees together in the store and the customer accepted Christ right there.
3. The yellow truck in the center is a 1969 Chevy Suburban which was driven by Leon and Pat
Bates for almost 300,000 miles. Leon had his artist, Charles Anderson paint them coming out
of it. Leon does not believe God will say to His believers, “OK, it’s time to go, park your car on
the side of the road.” Simple logic says "in the twinkling of an eye" means immediately.
4. NOTICE the airplane crashing into the skyscraper. Leon had this painting made in 1974,
27 years before the New York tragedy of 9/11/01. When teaching or witnessing with the
picture over the years, Leon says he'd heard a rumor that a major airline had established a
policy to not schedule a Christian pilot and a Christian Co-pilot on the same flights. He tried to
confirm the rumor, but could not. However, there is a Fellowship of Christian Airline Personnel
(www.fcap.org) so could it be true? Leon says that IF SO, it’s a wise policy. And if any listener
(or reader of this) is not saved, they should trust Christ for their salvation BEFORE they fly.
5. More than 3,000,000 full color Rapture prints (Sizes: 11" x 14" & 22" x 28") and Post Cards
(4" x 6"), and picture in the Tribulation Map tracts have been produced since 1974.
